Compliance Statement

What ADVARO Test & Tag does, the standard we work to, and — just as importantly — what sits outside our scope.

Last updated 12 August 2026

What we do

ADVARO Test & Tag is an owner-operated test and tag service. We carry out in-service inspection and testing of portable electrical equipment in accordance with AS/NZS 3760:2022, tag the equipment that passes, and supply digital test records and an asset register after testing.

  • Visual inspection of plug-in equipment, leads and power boards
  • Electrical testing of common Class I and Class II portable equipment
  • Extension lead and power board testing
  • Portable RCD and RCD protected lead testing
  • Clear tagging showing the test date and next test due date
  • Digital test records and asset register supplied after testing

What sits outside our scope

ADVARO Test & Tag is not a licensed electrical contractor and does not carry out electrical installation or repair work. The following are outside our scope and are referred to a licensed electrician:

  • Electrical repairs of any kind, including to leads and plugs
  • Rewiring, plug replacement and lead replacement
  • Fixed wiring and switchboard work
  • Testing of RCDs installed in a switchboard
  • Installation of new equipment or circuits

If your site needs any of the above, we will tell you plainly and recommend you engage a licensed electrician.

Failed equipment

Defective equipment is clearly identified, documented and removed from service as appropriate, with electrical repairs referred to a licensed electrician. Every failed item appears in the records supplied after testing, along with the reason it failed.

Retest intervals

Retest intervals are set according to the environment the equipment works in, following the guidance in AS/NZS 3760:2022. Construction sites, workshops and commercial kitchens sit at the short end of that range; low-risk offices and similar environments sit at the long end. We assess your site and set the interval for each asset class.

Your obligations

Testing and tagging supports your duty of care under work health and safety regulations, but it does not replace it. You remain responsible for keeping equipment safe between tests, removing damaged equipment from service, and acting on the findings in your reports.

Qualifications

Testing is carried out by a trained and competent test and tag technician holding nationally recognised test and tag training.
